Tuition

Dr. Woods teaches lessons for most instruments Monday through Saturday. Lessons are $22 per half hour and are paid as part of a monthly tuition. This monthly payment gaurantees the student's time slot with their teacher for the entire month, every month, until the student decides to stop taking lessons. Monthly tuition ($88 or $110, depending on how many times your lesson day falls on the calender) is due the first week of every month.

Attendance and Cancelations

We try to encourage very consistent lesson attendence as a way of ensuring that our students progress in their discipline. For most beginning musicians, as well as younger players, consistent attendence is essential for musical growth. As well, Dr. Woods wishes to maintain the highest quality teaching staff possible. In order to continue to employ high quality carreer-educators, we must be able to promise them a consistant, predictable wage. For these reasons Dr. Woods offers a limited cancellation policy for our students:

Dr. Woods allows one excused absence per student, every 3 months. Payment for the missed lesson will be credited for the following week. Please understand that lesson payments gaurantee our students their time slot, as well as the lesson itself.  In order to assure a constistant time slot for our students, we must pay our teachers for their time.

Can I schedule my lessons every other week?

Yes. Our teachers can schedule bimontly lessons, although sometimes with a more limited availability. Although monthly tuition will be half the price of typical weekly lessons, all other aspects of our lesson policies still apply, including absenses and makeups. We strongly reccomend a consistant, weekly lesson plan for younger students, or students who are total beginners on their instrument. Bimonthly lessons often work best for adults or older students with busy schedules, or intermediate to advanced students who seek lessons as a suppliment to their own private study.

Can I schedule lessons monthly, or on an 'as needed' basis?

Of course. However, please understand that in order to gaurantee a consistant time slot, students must attend lessons at least every two weeks. Students wishing to schedule lessons once a month, or on an 'as needed' basis must schedule their lessons as their teachers availability allows. Simply put, we cannot gaurantee you a time slot if you cannot gaurantee consistant attendance. We cannot hold time slots for students that 'may or may not' show up on their lesson day. Single lessons can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance, with the assumption that after the lesson, the time slot will then be open again to others for the following weeks.

I have already used my one excused absence. Can I make up my lesson on a different time or day?

Most likey. Most of our teachers will allow makeup lessons as their schedules permit. Please understand that our teaching staff are often very busy and may have limited availabilty, resulting in sometimes limited oppurtunities for makeup lessons. I little rapport goes a long way with our teachers. Students will find that their teachers are often ready to go out of their way to reschedule lessons with students that keep an open dialogue and constistant attendance.
